Open to intermediate and advanced skill levels for students ages 10 to 17 years old. You’ll need a signed recommendation from your private lesson instructor for your chosen instrument. Ask your instructor for details. If you are a beginner or under the age of 10 we highly recommend you join us for our JamCore rehearsal class held every Saturday at noon.
BandCore students need to possess a basic proficiency in specific techniques and songs for their chosen instrument(s). Students do not need to have perfect mastery of these skills, just a solid understanding and ability of each skill. We are here to learn and get better at these skills as the class progresses but students should be able to basically do most of these skills. You don’t have to be perfect. Just do your best and have fun. You will need to have your private lesson instructor verify that you have successfully demonstrated all of the required skills/songs needed for your chosen instrument. Please let your private lesson instructor know that you would like them to give you the Skills & Songs Assessment Test for BandCore and they will help you. The BandCore instructor has the final say regarding your participation. If you don’t make it, your instructor will advise you as to what you need to work on then you can try again for the next session. Good luck Rockstars and remember to have fun!
Yeah, you read that right! Rockstars Of Tomorrow is hosting our first ever Rockstar Adventure Camp this year and we want to know, if you were on a deserted island and could only bring one instrument, which would it be? It’s time to find out once and for all. This summer, join us on an epic five day adventure as we traverse the islands of rock music to better understand how the world was gifted with so many inspiring rock sub-genres and pay homage to legendary rock heroes who sailed the rockin’ seas before us. We’ll dive in even deeper and explore the fundamentals of core rock instruments like the guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and even the mic.
On the final day of our quest, we’ll take the stage with our fellow campers for one last epic jam session to show off everything you’ve learned. Now when you’re friends ask you how your summer was you can tell them you had the time of your life jamming with your new musician friends, rocking five different instruments, and performing your favorite songs live on stage at a real concert! That’s the kind of treasure some can only dream of.

Everyone who auditions will need to select one song from the category they will be auditioning for from the “Audition Song List.” You will be asked to learn a specific section of that song, links to the MP3 is available below with the exact section you will need to learn, then perform your song on stage in front of a fun crowd and a panel of judges who will judge you on ability, stage presence and how well you know the material.
Students may audition for 1 or 2 positions only. Please make sure you select each instrument you will be auditioning for on the registration form. CLICK HERE to access the AllStar Audition Registration Form
We encourage you to start working on your audition song immediately. We purposely shortened the amount of time you have to work on it. Let your instructor know what you decided or ask them for help with selecting the best audition song for you. Most of your instructors will be available for extra lessons if you decide to work a little harder on the perfect audition.
Winners will be announced via email the day following the audition.
The commitment from both you as a professional musician and our team of instructors is crucial for a successful outcome. As an AllStar you will be working closely with our best instructors and students who made the cut. We’ve calculated that the average AllStar will be rehearsing for nearly 85 hours plus performing at exclusive concerts. That’s equivalent to more than 3 years of lessons at one lesson per week.
The total cost for this years AllStar experience is only 3 payments of $100.00
But wait… there’s more!
All Rockstars of Tomorrow AllStars will receive a professional headshot photograph (digital version) from the very awesome Kunhardt Photography. Special custom photo packages will be available. Information will be announced at the informative parent meeting on Friday, September 8th.
As a member of the 2017 AllStar Band, you will be involved in all rehearsals and performances. Every minute of the AllStar experience is rewarding both emotionally and physically. Band members make lots of new friends, work at extremely high levels with other talented musicians and perform exclusive live music concerts multiple times over the holiday season. This experience elevates everyone’s ability to the next level and beyond.
AllStars will need to be available for rehearsals and performances throughout October, November and December. Our first rehearsal/meeting will start on Saturday, October 7th. The earlier we start working on the songs, the sooner we can become polished. Most rehearsals will take place on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. Sundays will be on a if we need to rehearse basis (It is football season after all).
In the past, we have performed at places like:
The Mission Inn’s Festival of Lights
The Shoppes at Chino Hills
Saddleback at Universal City Walk
Saddleback at Universal Hollywood
Downtown Brea
Los Angeles Children’s Hospital
Aim to Love Feed The Homeless
Rockstars Of Tomorrow Christmas Party
and many many more!
Performances generally take place on weekends in December. We are working very hard on adding new and even greater locations to perform our show.
This song list was carefully selected to be challenging and hopefully not part of any student’s current work; therefore there is no unfair advantage by choosing one song over another. Take your time and listen to all song choices. Choose the best song for you. Spend your lesson time every week working out the details and parts of your song so you are confidently prepared to deliver your best possible performance.
Each song is linked to a file that you can listen to and download. Please use the MP3 as a guide. You can perform your song exactly like the MP3 or add some cool sauce to make it you. Just make sure whatever you play fits within the section on the MP3.
If you are a vocalist and you decide to audition as a solo artist meaning that you sing and play an instrument during your audition, we will award an extra bonus point to your final score providing your final score is 75% or greater than the total points allowed. (example: If the maximum score is 100, you will need to score a 75 or higher to receive the extra point).
*All songs on the “Song List” are for learning purposes only. They are not intended to be shared or distributed in any form.

Can I audition for multiple positions like vocals and guitar?
Yes you can however, you are limited to only 2 different categories. Depending on your score in each field, and how deep we run at musicians at each position, Rockstars of Tomorrow reserves the right to choose whether you are in one position or both.
Do I need to attend every rehearsal and performance?
It is important that you are available for all rehearsals and performances. However, we know that can be difficult. There will be a certain amount of time that we will deem as acceptable to miss, anything beyond that and you will risk not being able to perform with the AllStar band. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication to perform this show at such a high level.
Are parents allowed to stay in rehearsals?
We have found that our band members work harder and more efficient when their parents are not present. 99% of the time the musicians love being at practice and it is the parent who keeps checking their watch wondering how much longer. We would like for parents to drop their kids off and come back later to pick them up. We will have a signup list for a couple parent volunteers at each rehearsal.
Am I able to sing and play my audition song by myself without the house band?
Absolutely! We encourage creative versions of songs and if you want to sing and play by yourself, have at it! In fact, there will be an extra point awarded to vocalists who perform their audition piece by themselves with their instrument.
Can I have extra photographs of myself or my family for the holidays?
Kunhardt Photography will be offering special holiday photography packages that you can sign up for. Packages will be announced at the informative parent meeting on September 8th.
Can I audition for different instruments if they are different than what I am enrolled in lessons for?
Yes you can. Many of our students are continually changing their classes so they can become more proficient on other instruments. In some cases, their current class may be something that they are more qualified to audition.
Is there a limit to how many people get to audition?
In efforts to keep the audition at a reasonable amount of time, Rockstars Of Tomorrow reserves the right to close the audition sign ups after a certain date if we feel that the list is filled. We encourage you to sign up immediately to secure a spot on the list.
Can I change the key of a song to better suit my voice?
All songs must be performed exactly as they are on the song list. If you opt to sing and perform your song, then you can choose to change they key or tempo. The arrangement still must stay the same.
Do I have to choose a song from the specific category I am auditioning?
If you are a vocalist, you may choose from any song on the list. Keep in mind that some songs focus on more music parts of the song and may not be a good choice to audition with. Make sure you talk to your instructor about this. If you are auditioning an instrument, you must choose from that specific category.
IS IT ALL ABOUT ME?
As a member of the AllStar band, you are part of a team. Everyone involved is equally as important and we treat everyone like that.
